After performing various IT-related roles, Roland von Gehlen was appointed CIO at the fashion firm Jean Pascale. After moving to the Otto Group, he later took charge of the central software development division there. He then took on the role of Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) and group data protection officer. In this role, he was responsible for IT compliance within the group, advising the German representatives of the EU Commission on the European General Data Protection Regulation (EU-GDPR), for example.
Today, he advises companies on data protection and IT security, and works as a certified external data protection officer and Information Security Officer (ISO).
